Every Miles Davis Album: #27
I AM SO BACK!!!
Anyway, this is a pretty good Miles album overall.
The first song is really great and one of my favourites from this era.
The second song’s drumming was fucking insane. I could’ve done without it being the length that it was but it was still crazy af. It was very experimental for this time I think.
I also really enjoyed listening to “Something I Dreamed Last Night” and “Diane” which I know from The ... read more

Airegin starts the album of really well. It's a fast paced song and sounds really nice and then there's Oleo. I didn't really like Oleo that much. I thought it was pretty boring and nothing interesting or new and it was way too long. I just lost interest in it half way through.

The last Davis album of the 1950s and it’s pretty good.
I didn’t think the quality was the same as Cookin’ and Relaxin’ but it was still decent.
The first song, “It Never Entered My Mind” was really good and definitely the best from this album.
I just felt like Cookin’ and Relaxin’ were better overall albums with a sound that I prefer compared to this.
Favourite song: It Never Entered My Mind

This is really a turning point in music as a whole, not just for jazz and it’s so iconic and there’s a reason why this is the best selling jazz album ever.
It sounds so new and it works as background music but if you really listen to it, just you and the music, it feels more like an experience than just an album.
The music has a perfect balance of being free and explorative but also accessible and as though everything was meant to belong where it was ... read more
