Siamese Dream is a very strong and pure distillation of alternative rock. It really is just the band members captured in a room playing these crazy multi-phased songs and using their instruments as creatively as possible. While the songs are a bit lengthy, I never once found myself bored due to the constant motion the record has and how off kilter Billy Corgan's vocals are. I think I made a very good choice for my first ever experience with jazz fusion. Who woulda thought that emo prog rock jazz fusion would work so well. Absolutely insane album. While a lot of the songs end up having similar structures, each song has this constant push and pull with numerous tempo and time signature changes to keep you on your toes and give you something crazy to sink your teeth into.
