Behemoth - The Satanist

This was my favourite album of all time for years. I still think it's in the top 3. Nergal (singer, guitarist and songwriter) had cancer whilst writing this album, being told that he wouldn't make it through. You can hear the pain within this album, flowing through every song, line, riff. It's deeply powerful and moving. A story of triumph, since luckily he made a full recovery. This album makes you think. Truly a masterpiece

Not a weak song on this album. Every song is rich in atmosphere, making it one of the best black metal albums out there. This album makes you feel something. Unless you aren't human.

Rivers of Nihil - Where Owls Know My Name

A concept album about the last man on earth, this album is rich in emotion, isolation, reminiscence. There are some weaker songs on the album which bring the rating down a little, however, the highs of this album are some of the greatest in the genre. Also, death metal with saxophone? Genius.

Necrophagist - Epitaph

If you asked me what is objectively the greatest album of all time, Epitah is in the conversation. It's not my favourite album of all time, yet its brilliance is undeniable. Muhammed Suicmez has the soul of a great classical maestro, back from the dead to compose one of the greatest musical works of all time. That's a fact.

Death - The Sound of Perseverance

Symbolic introduced me to the world of Death, TSOP solidified my love of the genre. This has everything I love about Death Metal, aggression, speed, brutality, prog, melody, harmony, emotion. This is a deeply emotional album and the Magnum Opus of the entire sub-genre. A MUST LISTEN!
