I do not wanna disrespect madvillany, but I also want to disrespect RiTchie. I believe we do have something special here. I cannot take madvillany out of my mind when I listen to this, yet with a twist. I hope whoever listens to this likes it. This is truly special,
The whole concept of a raw live recording offers a new take on the renaissance of the band as a whole. I am glad every single member shines despite the rapid preparation and craft time for the track list. This is THE BAND. With or without a frontman the band demonstrates their sufficiency and the overall virtuosity of each. By the way, Tyler's voice is perfect for the band.
Just by looking at it you know this won't be like anything else. You will get into this murky river and baptize into a new religion worshiping the day everything fits where it shouldn't. A cold breeze will be enough to warm your heart after listening to this. You will die over and over again. You know it is wrong to be feeling like this in the middle of your average day, yet you like it. The sound quality is good, the expertise in the composition blows any self-absorbed thought. I believe that this experience completes itself with the live version. The rhythmic patterns sometimes feel lifeless, nonetheless, the voice of Thom always shines through. It definitely is a grower, at least to me I love to listen to it once a month.
Just to make us all mortals feel helpless, this fast-paced records recorded in what I think three days rocks hard from beginning to end. The best intro to a record and a forward thinking ending. It feels like a really condescending record in regard to the political and social problems devouring with incessant anxiety.
I remember the first time listening to this. It is one of the most heart wrenching records of all time, however, it carries a warmth that no other Radiohead record offers. It only seems like this could be the last chapter for Radiohead, and of course a sad one.
The bleak landscape and the reflection to the modern-day dilemmas only shows how perfect this depiction of humanity is.
It is QOTSA approaching songwriting with a fiery freedom. The execution of the riffs resembles the ferocity of a blend between Like Clockwork and Songs of The Deaf. It is extravagant at its best, a great record. Sometimes the riffs are elongated without any purpose in Made To Parade, however it redeems itself with a bittersweet ending almost reminding me of Licorice Pizza with a similar sensation. I love this record.
Edit: It is perfect, the eeriness is succulent, and it shifts the idea before ... read more
The gothic ambient this Detroit band has pulled off describes what everyone has to deal with, aging. Its title seems appropriate for such intricate themes. The first two tracks sell a totally different idea, not to say they are bad just nit adjacent with the rest of the record.
The production and droning ambient Hecker offers is pristine. It paints a gray world with nothing but soothing rain while mountains stand behind on the landscape
The best ambient record. I listened to it while I was reading The Stranger by Albert Camus. It has to be a one time experience everyone should go through.
