I'm a big fan of nu metal so I thought I would enjoy this album, but I didn't like it at all. The guitar sounds great, the drums are good, what's mainly turning me away is two things: the shortest song was like 5 minutes, and the singer sounds awful. Black metal is definitely not for me.
Best song: Vertigo
A spectacular follow-up to Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. Amazing level.
Best song: House of Wolves
A spectacular introduction to emo music. Great album.
Best song: Helena
Very fun listen, Spineshank's second album is fast and full of energy.
Best song: New Disease
An amazing followup to the masterpiece of Volume Alpha. C418's Volume Beta may not be as strong of an album, but its sound captures the new environments of the game in a way no other composer could.
Best song: Taswell
The greatest video game soundtrack of all time. C418's masterpiece is and will always be a staple of not just Minecraft, but gaming as a whole.
Best song: Subwoofer Lullaby
I think commiting suicide might be more fun than hearing this shit.
If this movie was a person it would have been aborted.
After the slightly disappointing Minutes to Midnight, Linkin Park manage to bounce back by capturing their new sound much better than they did on those few MTM tracks. Amazing songs throughout and they beautifully blend the new style with their normal rap/nu metal.
Best song: Iridescent
8 years and he didn't even cook.
This album has some great tracks, but then you have shit like STFU. It's just very inconsistent in the vibe, the sound, the quality, everything. Also, that HELICOPTER song has the stupidest beat ever.
Best song: DON'T BE DUMB/TRIP BABY
Amazing album, one of the best of this year
Best song: The Great Bakunawa
This album has very amazing highs and very bad lows. Tracks like Holy Fucking Shit: 40,000 are amazing, and then you have A Quick One Before The Eternal Worm Devours Connecticut. Overall, this album perserveres through the bad songs (which, coincidentally, are the instrumental ones) to produce an amazing sound, ending off with a perfect song in Earthmover.
Best song: Earthmover
Outdoing Mezmerize in many ways, Hypnotize is an amazing end to System of a Down's perfect discography.
Best song: Dreaming
