My least favorite thing in trap music is when someone tries really hard to be the one that's bigger than it, like they make trap but they're really on sum other shit & these other artists just don't get that. This album definitely feels like that, but Rico is just such a good fucking rapper I almost don't care
Two of the biggest artists from Toronto decided to try and make Barter 6 again, and yet after 10 years it still can't be done. Also this is a fucking mess
This album is more artsy then people give it respect for, and those elements make this album imperfect, but these imperfections make this album what it is. It's not just MF DOOM rapping his best verses over Mad-Libs best beats. It's also instrumental interludes and DOOM singing weirdly and talking about underwater cafes & it's Quasimodo talking about how today is tomorrow and yesterday is next Tuesday but that's a good thing.
