i'm biased cause i'm a long time fan of both the goats and the story they're telling here, but damn i love this track. i love how he handles sheen's perspective, like he's the only rational person in the situation while everyone is treating him like the paranoid cokehead he is.
shout out to the backing singers for copying jd's weird vocal habits (riiihihihihiiise and whatnot)
it's like ajr meets the front bottoms and the worst parts of weezer. others seem to like it tho, so i'll sit this one out
it initially felt like a step down from their debut, but the more i listen the more the album settles into my soul. it's a VERY worthy follow-up imo.
a great step up in quality after a couple weaker albums. not quite as good as their first three, but still a valuable entry into their discography
definitely a step down from her previous album, but very enjoyable.
these tracks are pretty tight. very confident, and very creative. they're one to keep an eye on for sure
songwriting is great, but it could definitely use a remaster imo
very strong single. you've got the ratboys staples of an atypical melody, a cleverly carried beat, and simple yet poignant lyrics. it's a good tip of the hand without revealing all their tricks. i'm very excited to see what's to come.
it's a very pleasant listen. while it does feel bloated, i can't really think of what i'd cut from the tracklist, cause it's all quite good. very emotional, very raw. a continually developed sound that still stays unique.
it may be in the 90s if it was a biiiiit tighter on the tracklist, but overall great stuff.
it's shit, but not SHIT shit. the intro is cheesy as fuck and really pissed me off on a fundamental level, but the music itself is really no worse than most of your run of the mill hardcore/metalcore bullshit.
the engineering and production is godawful and the lyrics/vocals/spoken word segments sound like someone trying to parody fifth wave emo's overindulgence in the self-pity.
the instrumentation and songwriting is on point, but the whole thing sounds like it was recorded with tin can and string, so it's hard to really get into any of the stronger moments. if the album was mixed closer to the two bonus tracks, it would easily jump 10 points at least.
A massive step back in the right direction! The lyrics are a massively mixed bag, and it's pretty messy overall, but the spirit is there.
Sexy, sexy remix on both the live show and the album. The outtakes are cool, altho may not be new to many hardcore fans.
Good deluxe overall
