A consistently great rock album from front to back with plenty of memorable tracks/moments.
As a big fan of RAT WARS, CONFLICT DLC feels like the band diving back into that type of sound and I'm all for it. It does stumble in the second half in it's efforts to slow down and close itself out, but it's still got one of their best sets of tracks to date.
An album I found myself very excited to listen to following it's singles which I massively enjoyed and as a big fan of twenty one pilots, I had high hopes.
Thankfully, I wasn't disappointed at all. I enjoyed every single track on this album to various degrees, with some of my favourite tracks in their whole discography being present here.
As a big moment for them and an ending to the DEMA storyline, it does an awesome job.
On one hand, Scaled and Icy doesn't come anywhere near TOP's best works in thematic complexity, experimental production or even unique songwriting. Still, it's an easy pop listen and it doesn't really try to be a whole lot more than that. There are a couple of shining moments on here, other wise, it's just a safe pop listen.
An incredibly immersive music experience written from Phil's time secluded in a log cabin. It's simplistic, but that's honestly the beauty of it all. The lyrics combined with the straight forward instrumentation do an incredible job of putting you in his mind. It's both cozy and contemplative, as you would expect from such peaceful seclusion.
