its a lot better than her older albums, but it doesnt sound too different iykwim. It's really mid experimental beats which tbf, are better than her older ones. It's still a mid record with little to no flavour or variation. In fact, some guitars sound like menu music for a cheaply made car racing arcade game. It wasn't as headache-giving as the other albums she has tho so that gives it plus 5 points.

Prime Nasir and James are back!!! The instrumental is heavenly, James absolutely kills it on the vocals. Could be Nasir's best track yet. We need this on spotify right NOW!

really good album and a lot better than what i was expecting. some songs doesn't really feel like boom bap and more like jazz rap/chipmunk soul type songs. When there's rapping the instrumental is WAY too loud and u can barely hear the vocals. The samples are beautiful tho i love it. The production gives real MF DOOM vibes which i love.
Some songs could've been cut a bit shorter tho.
A bit long with lots of filler and mid songs puts this down a lot.

i remember hearing the intro for the first time and thinking 'oh wow, another boring pop/r&b song by drake' but once i heard the beat drop i immediately loved it. Drake's part is the best lowk.

My first Ty$ project (i listened to half of 'Tycoon' but i didnt like it) and its cool. 3 Billion is your average r&b song but its still fire. It gets a bit repetitive after 4 songs but it keeps up pretty well. Can't wait for vol.2.

The first 2 songs were the only songs that blow me away, and when i say that it blows me away, believe me it does. The production on the first 2 songs are amazing and better than anything on 'Never'. It falls off after that tho, with everything having a pretty different vibe which i didnt expect or like.

There's a really small amount of flaws on this EP. Like lots of others, I found Mag.Lo through Tiktok, and once i done my first full listen i realised that this guy is amazing.
The only flaws on this is that some lines come of really corny, like the screaming part on 'Who am I', or the 'what exists' line on the same song. At only 29min, I think we need more than half an hour and 8 songs to see the full potential of The Scythe, and this isnt a very good starter. It gets really boring after a while and theres a lot of bad songs too. 'MUTT THAT BIH' is a huge vibe and amazing tho.
