Definitely one of Deftones most emotionally driven albums. You could tell for most of the album there was Shoegaze-y Nu metal sound in mind. And they absolutely succeeded with tracks like Diamond eyes, Royal, Beauty school, Sextape, and 976 -Evil. Though a couple tracks don't mix well with the heavier segments.
