This has smooth production and nice bass groove. Lorde has vocals that are somewhat mixed quietly. This could definitely grow on me with more listens. I just hope Lorde can bounce back from Solar Power.
I feel so wrong giving this album a bad grade, given the untimely passing of Chester Bennington two months after this album's release and the toll that its negative reception took on his mental health, but this album, minus one song, is just not good.
I appreciate Linkin Park for changing the direction of their music, but the EDM Chainsmokers-esque direction that they took for this one does not suit the band at all. Most of the songs here are either disgustingly overproduced or awkwardly ... read more
Beat and hook goes hard, but man the awkward homophobia reminded me that the verses are sort of empty here.
