Not inherently awful, just don't see myself revisiting any songs except for 'i feel everything', production felt a little uninspired, album concept was not bad though.
favs: i feel everything
I feel like if I listened to this 5 years ago it'd be one of my fav projects ever released, however I struggled to fully immerse myself hearing it fully for the first time in 2026. That being said, every project Jane has ever released I have ended up bumping the ratings up quite drastically after a few more listens, and I hope that's the case with Frailty too :)
favs: movies for guys, your clothes, let's go home, search party, goldfish
I thought this was an interesting album, the highlights of this album are some of the best of his career, but in the same breath segments of it did not feel fully fleshed out. 21 songs in 45 minutes, with a lot feeling quite similar left other parts of the album feeling derivative even if the individual songs were good. That being said, the album did feel cohesive, it did feel like an album more than an amalgamation of songs which I feared it might be.
With some of the shorter songs, it felt ... read more
Really good album, I adore the production and the raw vocal runs hit different, however my favourite moments of the album we're almost always the 1-2 minute tracks which just didn't feel fully fleshed out sadly.
Favs: scratching, many times, the dress, rodeo clown
Sounds like you combined Lizzy Mcalpine with Phoebe Bridgers and asked them to create their own version of Vanisher by Quadeca. Beautiful album, the soundscapes were perfect and at times the instrumentation gave me nostalgia to playing sea of thieves many years ago lmao. I normally need a few listens to let albums grow on me, this was breathingtaking first listen but I can see myself rating it higher after a few more listens.
favs: Hunter, Dearly Missed, Belly of the Whale. (that being said, ... read more
sounds like a 2000s emo rock concert hosted in an 8 bit video game lol
favs: i want it all (trophy), god knows i could tear us apart, initialize
92->100
I've been loving this album since its release, yet I can't help feeling like i've been sleeping on it at the same time. I really appreciate cohesion in albums and all of auroras albums have had that for me. Upon first hearing this album in 2024 it had some of my favourite moments of any Aurora album but just felt a bit everywhere compared to her other albums, and I was finding myself swapping between being addicted to individual tracks (some type of skin -> do you ... read more
the best songs on this ep hit hard, and the storytelling is well done through the album, but some of the tracks although relevant to the ep, sonically feel a little bit like filler, such as the closing track which felt a touch empty as a closer despite being a good standalone track. Nonetheless a very good ep :)
favs: hurt like it should, getting over you
79 -> 89 -> 96, somehow every jane remover project ages like fine wine
Although a lot of the album didn't really stand out to me, I think it does what you can expect from a pop album really well. I personally found the second half of the album more captivating than the first half, she's got a great voice and can make a really good ballad. At some stages the vocals reminded me of Ariana Grande lol
favs: you're still everything, make you mine, bittersweet
I wish I didn't wait as long as I did to give this a go. I'm taken aback by how unbelievably good it is. If you like any form of hyperpop/digicore or grandiose type albums like Hypochondriac or I didn't mean to haunt you, definitely give this a go. Wow.
favs: interstate patsy, the homestead song, sink or swim, (the whole album tbh)
76 -> 94 upon revisiting this, idk what i was thinking when i gave this a 76 lol
southview is an all timer of a track, gives me the vibes of avril lavigne if she was born 20 years later
90 -> 95 -> 100 because the album is aging like fine wine
edit: i give in, this albums a 10/10
Obviously an incredible album, however having never listened before, listening to this for the first time after vanisher came out you can definitely see how much Quadeca has improved across the two albums. Thematically, IDMTHY is far more captivating to me, but the progression of the album sonically didn't have my jaw on the floor quite like vanisher. Nonetheless, this is still an absolutely stunning album. (Knots might be my favourite song to play in the car ever lmao)
Enjoyable album, it does exactly what it was intended for, it's fun and the songs are catchy. As someone who is a very casual tyler listener, and who couldn't get fully immersed in Chromakopia, I'd still love to see him build off chromakopias sound and lyricism more though on future projects more than this as I think he can be a really good lyricist when he wants to be. End of the album was definitely the highlight for me (I'll take care of you & Tell me what it is), and ... read more
