I thought this would be a disappointment after such a long wait, especially when I saw it was only 36 minutes. The rollout was great. The Booman docs gave insight into Keem’s life and the whole aesthetic and sound was spot on. This is such a strong album. The shorter runtime makes sense. It fits the CASINO vibe, fast moving, unpredictable, constantly shifting.
The album has everything for me, extreme vulnerability, tracks that had me boppin, some thought provoking moments. The sound ... read more
A huge step in a new direction. Brave at the time and took a movement to new places
Legendary duo. I can't thank them enough for all they have done. I was so hyped for this and it delivered
Some of the beats hit hard at first, but after a while the lacklustre, effortless bars started to wear thin and I found myself ready for the song to move on, which is ironic because the tracks are so short. Overall, it’s fine, just pretty uninspiring
His wordplay, alliteration, flows are all impressive, Bravo JID. The underlying messages and feeling are always quite important to me in rap albums and at the moment it doesn't do enough for me, it feels quite like a collection of random songs and ideas rather having a clear artistic vision. Style over substance. I may change my score if the album grows on me
Very fun, every song catchy. Great production and feels very original. It doesn't remind me of much I know, Bjork at times maybe but overall loving this album
Found this from an amazing website called http://www.muzikifan.com/africaframe.html
It's in the top 10 folkloric compilations and can see why. Mesmerising, beautiful and very nostalgic for me
Heard woof meow a few years ago. Strong release, wordplay good and nice flow. Great beat selection and a nice vibe
Most of the abysmal scores stem from his Twitter rants and erratic behavior, while many of the 80+ ratings come from either blindly devoted Kanye fans or those who enjoy being contrarian. The album is certainly listenable—the production is solid—but the AI autotuning experiment was a misfire.
Overall, it's an uneven experience: flashes of brilliance, as Kanye will always be capable of, but also moments of complete self-indulgence where his lack of self-awareness turns into ... read more
Possibly the most underrated album on this website.
The music on Rise Up is incredible, and Thomas Mapfumo’s impact goes far beyond just sound, he was a crucial figure in Zimbabwe’s independence movement. His music wasn’t just entertainment; it was a powerful weapon against British colonial rule and the oppressive white-minority government of Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe).
Mapfumo’s Role in the Independence Movement was key. As the pioneer of Chimurenga music, Mapfumo ... read more
Not sure why Thomas Mapfumo is so underrated on this site but his Chimurenga sound is legendary
I gave Drake's new album several listens with an open mind, and I have to admit, it left me underwhelmed. While I feel a bit bad for Drake, I believe he has the talent and resources to bounce back if he takes some time to step away, refocus, and reassess his creative direction.
The musical landscape has evolved, and listeners seem to crave more introspective, meaningful content from their favorite artists. Drake, for the past few years, has managed to skirt by without delivering much ... read more
This is a great album, coming from a Brit and a lad from East Belfast. I do find myself wondering whether music like this in a city as politically sensitive as Belfast is a cause for concern. However, I also believe it's important to let voices be heard and music like this is undoubtedly a great reflection of society's collective conscious. Their ability to blend humour, social commentary, and political activism in their music is clearly outstanding. They're a powerful voice for the Irish ... read more
