Big H was an artist everyone around north London was wondering when he would be dropping something. He appeared in a lot of videos in the mid 00's, had a distinct style and looked the part. An energetic MC who had better bars than many of his peers. Meridian fell after the pointless Douglas Mullings shooting in 2004, which saw Skepta and JME move away from Tottenham and focus on music. This album grows on me with every listen, one of my fav of all time. So diverse and dark but nothing feels out of place. I don't know how an album like this is even put together.
Deep, emotional, dark, scatty. This is the most vulnerable we’ve seen Kendrick and boy does he have a story to tell. Mother I sober brought me to tears and it all became clear why Kodak black featured heavily and the nature of Kendrick’s inner demons. Some fans won’t like this as it’s not full of hip hop bangers and doesn’t have as clear as a narrative as some of his other albums, but for me, this is an engaging masterpiece.
The best rapper of all time, stepping up and proving why he is the best. This is such an enjoyable 5 minutes.
Unsure why people think this is such a step down from TPAB and GKMC. God and Love are still great songs in my opinion and a lovely finish to another masterpiece from Kenny. Needledrop flex and everyone jumps on the bandwagon. Guarantee if he hadn't given it a 7 and shat on those two tracks, the user score on Damn would be in the 90s
Am I the only one who thinks this sounds unique af?!?! Clearly paved a lot of paths for people, love it!
I love the slightly more ambient ethereal direction. As good as Hex was, I'm glad they varied it a bit
I've had some dark days listening to Nurse With Wound's catalogue. Throughout the discography there's many moments that shine but for me this lp shines the brightest. More rhythmic beats but still keeps that unmatched industrial eerie sound
