I’ve been listening to The Cure for quite a bit now. Never in this time however have I listened to an album from them in full with my complete attention. Let’s just say it was a long time coming. It was from Disintegration where most of the songs that I listened to from The Cure came from. For a long time I particularly enjoyed Pictures of You and Plainsong and even considered these perfect songs. I just find it insane the amount of time it took me to listen to this project in full ... read more
I can’t believe everyone had the same idea (as me) - ALL KILLER, NO FILLER. Great intro for me into J-Rock. Great compositions, solid production, very good vocals. Had no idea what was being said during my listen but I could definitely see the ranking move up if I understood the lyrics. Killer album.
Such a beautifully eccentric listen. The songwriting here is some of my favorite of 2024. The lyrics are so surreal and felt extremely personal to me in a very strange way. And Cameron Winter’s voice and inflections compliment it so well. Definitely one of my favorite albums of 2024.

At this point I was fully immersed, wallowing in the flood of sound. I ... read more
There’s nothing here that sounds too new for Swans, pretty cut and dry. Then again, this is Swans we’re talking about. For the band it still means an amazing and monumental track. The first leg of this track is epically haunting, and what many are describing it as, pretty foreboding and sinister. I really loved it. Admittedly, I thought the last leg of the song was good, not great. The tone mirrors everything that comes before and gives off a more hopeful and happy one. I really, ... read more
I had to think about this one for a second. Throughout the year I’ve listened to bits and pieces of this record, really enjoying what I heard (especially Von dutch), but always unable to sit myself down to listen to this thing front to back. But I’m just now thinking about how this is the same exact way I listened to Magdalena Bay’s Imaginal Disk. I woke up really early in the morning, listened to one track and got completely hooked. In this case I’m running on just a ... read more
