Some pretty good powerviolence. The reason why the score is lower than most, is because of one main flaw and that is the transitions. The transitions from one idea to the next aren't really structured that methodically and smoothly. The constant tempo switches just get boring after a while. While I can appreciate the absolutely insane, tight, breakneck riffs and energy, the composition feels lackluster at points. There are better releases in this genre, in my opinion.

"Other great examples of reviews could, for example, be the instances of weaving art criticism into one's own philosophical project. In Deleuze and Guattari's "A Thousand Plateaus" there is a fascinating section on the 1971 movie "Willard", where there is an interweaving of the authors' transformations of "becoming" into the film's description, serving as a fundamental contextual lens for understanding the notions. It's more enticing for me to go and watch the film than many of the "conventional" approaches people take to evaluate an art object. I will also provide a link to my favorite review on RYM — Shmin's piece on John Cage's Indeterminacy: https://paddyagius.neocities.org/writingpieces/indeterminacy1"

"Another example of a RYM user, this time, who employs such style is Octa Möbius Sheffner, aka crystallization (I have some grounds to believe the hypothesis that they're inspired by Jeppesen directly). Here's Jeppesen's overview of this approach: https://disorientations.com/2011/10/13/towards-an-object-oriented-writing-%e2%80%93-or-%e2%80%93-how-anti-formalism-helps-me-dream-notes-on-an-idea-plus-an-announcement/ A free repository of his object-oriented writing (some of it is present in his books which are unaccessible otherwise, e.g. in "Bad Writing"): https://disorientations.com/category/object-oriented-writing/ An amazing review of his on Holly Herndon's 2011 album Car: https://disorientations.com/2015/11/23/carholly-herndon/"

"@Bitterman Probably, my favorite art critic whose developed framework for writing possesses the drive for reflection of an art object's form/essence would be Travis Jeppesen with his project of object-oriented writing. He is the example of what I describe with how one can play with the form of a review — how language can encroach on the art object to inhabit it (though not fully and this failure is a conscious effect). He's the contemporary continuation of Susan Sontag's notion of the "erotics of art". There are plenty of people on AOTY and RYM that embody this methodology, for example @srlmecho [though to a lesser extent (you know I love ya)]."

"stop ragging on this review, idiots; it requires a lot of media literacy to actually grasp what this person is communicating. here, have some gold ⭐"

"@Bitterman There are huge philosophical movements like posthumanism and speculative realism which challenge these notions of fixed human identity. This extends to reimagining the priorities in art evaluation as well, read up on how thinkers try to overcome correlationism."

"@maskimus Maybe in the future. Reading it back there are also sections I cringe looking back at, like there's a pointless tangent on the political economy, for example. The latter half also needs revising, but I could take an excerpt of like two chapters and DM it to you on RYM."

"Too many people place the subject (the artist) as the ultimate source from which significance is derived. I was going to post a lengthier review detailing this phenomenon you're talking about under this record, but it's too niche."

"@Bot10Exists Thanks. I dislike this review nowadays, maybe it'll be replaced by a 5k+ word text on AI generation in art when popular enough discourse emerges, like with the Velvet Sundown shit. That "Flood" Before God album is too niche to warrant posting."

"@Inorma I mean, the shitty officiating goes both ways, also favoring the Spurs in other games, e.g. the inconsistency between Castle's handchecks on SGA being ignored in some and then heavily punished in the next, with added phantom calls on top of that. It's boring and doesn't present an actual direction for a series."
On Joseph Hammer - I Love You Please Love Me Too
"@Lied I would still be inclined to believe that game 7 is favoring OKC even with injuries. The officiating asymmetry between games is by design and it's just a shitty dragged out audience retention scheme."

"@Lied Just wanted to make sure that you didn't interpret that as "Castle couldn't score 20", I was talking about SGA. I agree with your assessment, and we don't even need to see his playoff performances to know that, as he's already plenty proven that in the regular season."
On Joseph Hammer - I Love You Please Love Me Too
"@Lied Couldn't even score 20... though I'm more surprised with how mobile Fox has been -- reading the report it seemed to me that they wouldn't let him play, but it looks like the good scenario for the Spurs."

"Yes. You can discuss Israel's place in Eurovision and the intrinsic double standards in their involvement with other organized events while Russia is effectively locked out (not to mention the fraud and their obvious geographic misalignment because the ME is too antagonistic for them, I wonder why), but having your sole purpose just be rating this negatively to voice your dissatisfaction is not only worthless, but clutters the section for reviews that could actually feature a comprehensive analysis for why heavy opposition is there in the first place. Why do people not mention the rejected petitions, the BBC ruling, the open letter counterinitiative by 1000+ entertainment industry figures to keep Israel on board, etc. ?"

"@Inorma Maybe it's going to get better for Castle, hopefully. I would just be wary of Harper's willingness to come back on the court, as we don't have the context to know if he was going to play through the pain and discomfort, potentially jeopardizing his future games, or if he was actually fine. Right now it's hearsay, but seeing how he moves on the court will resolve this uncertainty."

"@Inorma As for Spurs in 5... I would hope so! I'm scared about Fox's and Harper's injuries though — what Fox is dealing with sounds pretty definitively like he's out for the series, and I wouldn't be so sure about Harper's capabilities at this current moment. With all the shenanigans, it more so looks to me like the NBA execs would really love to draw this series out to 7 and milk it for as long as possible."

"@Inorma Appreciate it... unfortunately, over the last year or two I've had terrible periods of overt self-criticism that made me not want to post anything, and when I would eventually do so, it immediately became a scourge to me. The latter half of this review was taken from my short personal essay on thought formulation and sign systems which is probably never going to see the light of day, but it's fun to gather your thoughts to know your values and I would heavily recommend you to engage in similar pondering — it's pretty productive for actual navigation in the real world."

"@Syrenity It's not even depoliticization, he's essentially flipping the script on what he's supposed to stand for. You wouldn't (analogy is not a 1 to 1 stand in, I'm not gonna moralize to this insufferable extent) look at someone like they have it figured out if they proclaim they're a man of God, then proceed to profess their love for Baal later down the line and pretend like these things are not mutually exclusive."
