Austere and isolating wallpaper music. Occasionally dips into moments of serenity or horror, but fails to leave any sort of lasting emotional impact; for wallpaper music will forever remain that of a background activity.
Shame, Richard is capable of so much more than this.
Whiny man sits down for 30 minutes and rambles on. Truly one of my least favourite styles of music. I don't know, nor do I care about what Drake is mumbling here. He could be reciting Gravity's Rainbow for all I care. Fundamentally your lyricism means nothing if you can't engage me instrumentally, and quite frankly this uninventive scatter shot of standard chords barely holds my attention. Truly spineless and timid music here.

And god forbid you don't have an air conditioner constantly running in your room keeping it at a cool 65 degrees, or else the 300 dollar shitty jazz fusion you imported from Japan album is going to start to warp. And don't get me ... read more
Truly incredible that despite being around for 4 decades and continually changing line ups and music styles Swans somehow manage to consistently pump out some of the most flat and unengaging songs out there. Hardly a single release in their discography even attempts something interesting. They're all texturally bland and the closest they come to engaging songwriting is sloppily executed overly extended crescendos.
But what makes The Birthing so bad is just how derivative it remains. At ... read more
