Disappointing EP as a follow up to 'Wild One' & 'London's Saviour' as both of those capture different vibes much better than 'The Boy who cried terrified .'
London's Saviour captures relaxed cloud rap incredibly well and in a very short project without features. Wild One is even shorter but the songs are fun and hyper and they also carry more structure than some of his previous songs.
But 'The Boy who cried terrified .' fails to do a good ... read more
Don continues to make solid albums without any versatility or lyrics that are even slightly interesting (I know he's a trap artist). He peaked with Life of A Don but hasn't 'missed' yet. The production was well done, but the features were very minimal (I'm not sure if I like that or not) so without any versatility the album dragged on for me as good background music.
Sounded really good on first listen but then I realised it was because of how bad mainstream rap has been for the past year. Overall it's pretty solid, nothing crazy. Just what should be the standard of rap by now.
(Doechii did ruin robbery I tried to give it a chance)
A solid project. Fun beats, tolerable vocal performances. The main problem I have is that for a MIXTAPE consisting of pretty stagnant trap songs (which is fine), MANIA feel incredibly long and for me became largely unenjoyable and boring, I get that it's not deep music or anything, but when most songs are the same you get the idea pretty quickly and don't need 44 minutes of it for it to be enjoyable.
Song structure, length, and mixing could all be better but it's the feelings that count
I need more cloud rap in my library
Edit: After relistening to this project 88 times (excluding 'airhead'), I've come to realise the insane amount of replay value on this project. I can turn it on any day and it never gets boring because of how short it is (in a good way). Makes me glad Fakemink got big in the end cause it would've sucked if this project went unknown and ... read more
The songs were a little similar sounding so despite the short runtime this felt longer than 34 minutes, but i didn't really see any songs as objectively 'bad' so there's a positive. The highlight for me was 'YAM PORRIDGE', mostly because of the feature (Tiwa Savage).
only slightly excusing this because he dropped a good full length already this year
GOLDFISH was really hard for me to sit through and listen to. Alc made some good beats but they sound way too similar and Hit Boy's vocals don't do them any justice. There's also way too many songs and a lack of interesting features. I'm dissapointed, but I can't say I was ever overly hyped for this.
Amazing prod. paired with lazy, but diverse enough vocal performances to keep me interested but also relaxed without becoming bored while listening to the clean cut 38 minute mixtape that is 'Body High'. I definitely need to listen to more cloud rap.
An album that makes me want to hear more rock. I wasn't a fan of the voice cracks, but they added power and desperation to the vocal performances. However, still not exactly my type of music, so I'll give it a 76
A solid and fast moving tape. Rebel's beats are close to the new 'rage' sound without being too intense or intolerable. The same goes for the fact that he doesn't need super high pitch vocals drenched in autotune to stand out - his Scouser accent did enough for me.
For a project packing 11 songs into 21 minutes, I found this surprisingly enjoyable to listen through as my introduction to Esdeekid because it didn't ever get too intense, but the songs transitioned well ... read more
After listening to Alfredo 2 when it dropped, I wasn't sure that there would be many albums to release in 2025 that would top it. But on the same night it dropped, so did this. One of the best first listens I've had for an album.
After over 25,000 minutes spent listening to Rodeo, it's still as replayable as it was when I had just become a fan of it. In fact when I first listened to it I wasn't a huge fan, but I started to replay it more and to this day I still haven't stopped. As corny as it may sound, this is just that album for me. It's undeniably been the soundtrack to my teenage years because it reeks of themes and stories describing Travis going through his past memories resulting in him ... read more
Album of the summer 2024/25. Banger after banger. Already becoming nostalgic.
A relaxing album containing calm R&B type vocal performances that are distinctively layered onto soft electronic instrumentals that to me are very reminiscent of Mac Miller's Swimming. The album stays varying enough for it's 58 minute runtime which passes quicker then you'd expect.
