This mixtape was a trip, elevated by the beautiful dreamy production. Filled with tons of dynamic changes to keep the project fresh, including diverse flows that are perfectly paced to the beats and lyrics, and the beats themselves, creating sounds pretty unique to the genre. The lyrics are not the most deep, but still interesting enough to keep me engaged. I really enjoyed this one.
This short little EP is OK, some moments are nice, but overall it doesn't have a lot of flavour or dynamic changes, and can lose my attention easily. The features stand out, particularly Sir Chloe's on the track Skip This One 2, such a beautiful voice. An extra instrument or a switch in pace or change in lyrical content now and then could have made this better.
I am not too fond of the pop elements, I think the vocals although technically nice, are getting increasingly one note now, I think it needs more variation badly. I think this full album lacked a whole lot of dynamic, it got from point A to point B, and there's not a lot to remember for it. I couldn't get into the big hits that people love so much, I don't think any tracks stand out more than others, other than the one breakcore song because it's breakcore in the middle of a ... read more
Before I listened to this album I predicted I would hate this, but it probably takes first place in nicest surprises for me this year. I loved this album, I let all of the bad opinions many people around me have of it get to me and I decided to ignore them for once, and I am so glad I did.
I think this album is actually really unique for its genre, I do not understand the BMTH copycat claims. I loved the futuristic, technological feel to this, I like the features, I like the clean singing ... read more
Bewitched by Laufey is an incredibly entrancing album, that captivated me throughout. The lyrics about love and hardships growing up are beautiful and inspiring and at some points actually, really sad, and I love that. The lyrics also feel so fresh compared to other 'romance' pop music in the modern age, that tends to feel bland and annoying i.e The Secret of Us and many recent Taylor Swift albums. The instrumentation is delicate and dreamy and fits Laufey's stunning, uniquely ... read more
Boring, to be honest. There were so many expectations for this from me. I see this mixtape everywhere, but it just didn't click with me. Lyrics aren't memorable, they're basic, the beats aren't memorable, they're also basic. The production was meh, the flows were meh, and there was just a huge lack of creativity all around. Insanely disappointing.
