Has a few highlights, but I was expecting grander and more unique parts for the orchestra. Really bloated runtime with not enough meat on its bones.
2026 Ranking: 25th/33
Monolord's sound gets less and less interesting with each release. I used to gloss over the boring songwriting and mediocre vocals because they still sounded fucking awesome, making for a good time anytime. Now I don't really have much to latch on to so I don't get this one.
I just want Rose Bonbon 2. MIRAR have potential, which is why this EP's name is perfect. I can be patient
Incredibly disappointing. The three singles are great, but the rest of the album is surprisingly boring and uninspired. Even has some bad rapping attempts??
Has a couple of fun, high-energy songs, but it's pretty basic/uninspired overall.
A giant serving of sloppy dogshit for the braindead masses. What the hell is the hivemind smoking? C'mon people
An extremely consistent, fun, mind-bending LP from Car Bomb's Greg Kubacki. Felt like a continuation of Tiles Whisper Dreams at parts, but quickly makes interesting and unique tonal detours. This feels more complete and cohesive than that last EP. Cool as all hell but I think it's lacking some high points to top it off. The production is absolute perfection for showing off one of the modern era's most unique guitar wizards. Has me very optimistic for the next Car Bomb LP's ... read more
One of those albums that are enough of a good time to pass time at work, but doesn't do much to become memorable. No big surprises, no interesting deviations, just some fun for about 20 minutes. Type of release where I'll like some decent song on it so I don't forget about it in the future
A promising debut with great massive guitar tones. Vocal performance is underwhelming, especially during the quieter and more-isolated moments. Songs aren't that interesting. Had me wishing they would do more during most of the runtime.
Just fine. Gone is the memorabilty and fun from the heavy-hitting kick drum, bass, and guitar mix from their debut. What's left is a messy, inarticulate, generic, and boring sound that makes Killing Me Softly blend in with the crowd.
Traditional, simple, and familiar riffs and breakdowns done with addicting energy, emotion, and execution.
Fun at first, but the overpowering bass cramps the mix and muddies any clarity. 37 minutes of this is mind-numbing. I much prefer the length of previous EPs
A good punchy, meaty, manic addition to the Car Bomb catalogue, but it falls a tad short on content and memorabilty, as seen in their previous work. I'm hoping the coming LP will have a much stronger, more unique identity. Kinda wish they would have saved this as a bonus for after the LP.
Still forming my thoughts on this EP, but 'Blindsides' is the clear standout of the three tracks (90). It has the most interesting songwriting, riffs, and identify of the bunch. It's the ... read more
Completely neutered compared to the original. The way-too-clean production creates an empty, plastic feeling soundscape.
The most chaotic and raw Car Bomb record. Taken me quite some time to truly understand how I feel about this one. It's a good album containing grindy, mathy, madness unique to its time. Despite these qualities I love, there is an emptiness I feel listening to this album. Great ideas are introduced but they often are not developed enough to create an interest or memorability for me to latch on to. It lacks the hynoptic, groovy, rhythms and the production of the next albums. There's an ... read more
A modern Koyaanisqatsi. Watch the album stream on YouTube, it'll give the full sensorial
experience for this incredible piece of art. Can't believe it only has 23k views. Add to it.
This is a reflection on the modern world accompanied by both traditional, classical instrumentation and the harsh, discordant, and suffocating capabilities of modern electronic instruments.
The compositions are absolutely astonishing, making use of beautiful prolonged crescendos and sudden attacks of ... read more
