My mind is deteriorating into a pulp, but the way it's being smashed is uniquely rhythmic. I've never danced so hard while feeling so self critical or while questioning every decision I've ever made. This album makes all my anxieties feel like a game of dance dance revolution, and I'm definitely staying to hit the high score.
Lyrics are very metaphorical and poetic, similar to that of a billy woods or xiu xiu mixed with production from which influiences of both death grips and the prodigy can be drawn (mostly electrical music with very experimental instrumentation and arrangements). I recommend that you don't listen to this album unless you already have tinnitus. Otherwise, it's pretty great.
Listened to this when it came out, didn't think too much of it initially but the voices in my head would not stop repeating the lyrics from some of the songs on this album so I had to listen to it again. Then again. Then again. Then again. Now I agree with the voices, this is a great album. Listen to the voices, they know what they're talking about.
Ooops Kendrick dropped a surprise west coast rap album and its better than 99% of all the rap albums that dropped this year. Who would have thought!
