It's like The Crow soundtrack...
Every song gives The Cure Pornography era vibes
And all the songs sound like Burn on repeat (which I wouldn't complain about at all)
Nice vibe but nothing blowing up at me to make me be like wow! Just pretty chill vibe album.
To the other reviews: Fucking cry babies, it's just some fun, chill out and enjoy something in life.
That last track alone is Epic... Cinematic! Felt like a gothic epic Batman movie...
Not as good that the previous release, but still wow! So good!
I know it's great! I can hear it!
it'll take a few listens for me to really find ones I love completely (as all their releases have done)
It's the same old same old, but hey at least it's not a dramatic departure from their usual stuff!
By album 3, bands a usually like, "hey I know we are pop punk, but here is our dad rock album." "Hey, I know we are emo, but here is our jazz funk radio pop album" "hey I know we are punk, but here's our ... read more
This album sounds like it came out YESTERDAY (it's currently 2025).. 23 years old and its aged like the finest fucking wine!
'Code Red' is a fucking banger!
'Heaven help me' is a great closer.
I like it.
It's definitely a new sound and vibe, but I liked it a lot!
It's a beautiful album.
It's spiritually gets you where it wants you to go.
I feel the lore and "story" gets lost on me, and that's my bad. I do love the character and the world, the vibe. I am excited for the breakdown videos on YouTube.
'Waco, Texas' feels like that song at the end of a movie then then hits to a 'black screen, title card, credits' at the crescendo. Great way to end this album and saga of Ethel Cain.
ST FANS: the lyrics are so beautiful and poetic. I cry when any song is recited.
'Provider' exists...... 👁️👄👁️
Overall I liked this album, I see the appeal.
I might have 1-2 skips. But it's not as bad as most of the other user reviews are making it out to be.
It's like is Byrne and Bowie had a child that lacked the soul and creativity.
This is the album I would expect a year post-panic Ryan Ross would make.
Jokes and harsh criticism aside, it's a good album, I'm just not clicking with it, the pacing isn't for me, the borderline pretentiousness is too thick for me. I might be wrong. But I see the appeal, previous albums had me more.
Birds of Tokyo mixed with Michael Jackson pop esthetic
It came off like one long 33 minute song.
Some will say this is an EP with 59 minuets of bonus noise.
Some will say this is art and exactly what they expected.
I think the triple van diagram of "Ethel Cain Fans - NINE INCH NAILS Fans - Laurie Anderson Fans" are so stoked to have this.
Me personally, this is a haunting play from start to finish. I found myself once or twice going "fuck how long is this gonna be" but that's my shitty impatience. By the end (the 6 min mark of Thatorchia exactly) I knew this ... read more
