thoroughly unimpressed

a wonderful evolution of clairo’s songwriting skills, lovely vocals topped with luscious and full folk production from the producer of the year, jack antonoff, in the running for album of the year!

0208 and pale blue light bring down this reissue, but because of the incredible 5 additional songs before it, it’s safe to assume that what’s your pleasure is the record to beat for album of the decade so far.

this record is heavily reminiscent of phoebe bridgers ‘punisher’ with traces of mitski sprinkled throughout. the sparse but intoxicating production, breathy vocal performances, and most importantly, the ‘cliche’ but relatable lyrics.

the foundation of this record, themes of living and pushing through past regrets, losing lovers and calling out the people who broke you, be it your family or friends lost to the past, offer a sense of familiarity to this story, like ... read more
