Body Count - Carnivore
63

For once it isn't the rap part of "rap metal" that's the issue. Idk, it's just pretty normal I guess. Still, there are some absolute baller tracks that are the definition of fun metal, examples in No Remorse, Thee Critical Beatdown.

Downfall Of Nur - And the Firmament Will Burn to Quench the Pain of This Earth
67

I absolutely love the opening of this album. The way it slowly builds over it's first 10 minutes is beautiful but idk, it kinda doesn't much else interesting from there. And yeah, why do we have a 20 minute long ambient track at the end???

Monstercat - Uncaged Selections 02
58

Yeah, this series is really not working for me. Smiles Only & est.- NEVER was decent but like nah, I'm really not all that excited for more entries in this series

Subtronics - Fibonacci Pt. 2: Infinity
86

Could be a 90 but the last two tracks in particular isn't a great final note

Getter - DOOM 2
72

The dubstep here is much better than the previous ep but like idk, it's also not all that original

Getter - DOOM
69

The mix of grimy hip hop with dubstep actually flows really nicely but in isolation the tracks are pretty mid

Nostalgix - Inferno
80

For what little we get, it's pretty good...but like come on, did you seriously not have like even one more tune to make this at least a half hour album?

SPAG - THIS IS: SPAG
75

It's fine...which is just not good enough coming from a mega Spag Heddy fan

58

Bro, this is a tragically spineless project. The most soulless thing I've heard in a while. She reaching for the largest demographic possible and in the meantime simply losing all interested before. :(

Draconian - In Somnolent Ruin
67

I only know their last album which I loved but I think that might be a bit of an anomaly. A bit of a "right sound at the right time" and it stuck with me cause this sounds basically the same but just doesn't really hit at all.

Seven Lions - The Dreams Strange and Eternal
65

An interesting companion piece to the album where he tries to resist not doing his usual Mel Dub sound. Unfortunately for this project, that sound is really where his talents mostly lie.

KNEECAP - FENIAN
90

Hang on a minute, maybe Fine Art was better than I gave it the chance to be cause I think their sound has now fully clicked for me. Sure, I always did enjoy their music but I was having an absolute ball with this album. Big Bad Mo is defo in contention for my favourite song of the year

Jessie Ware - Superbloom
80

A pretty damn good album...barring that boring ass track, 16 Summers. Sauna is a major highlight, easily one of my favs from her yet

Virtual Riot - Burning Out
80

Unfortunately a very safe album from VR. In a way, I hope that this is simply dip before another great project cause I just kinda felt like he wasn't really pushing himself here much at all. Still, it is Virtual Riot and that means it is good, no matter what!

U2 - Easter Lily EP
60

Definitely a more consistent ep than their last, simply out of not having a god awful track like American Obituary. However, this ep is just kinda mid. The highs are just not that high and it all kinda drags. Still, I was a fan of In A Life and Resurrection Song.

U2 - Days of Ash EP
63

Hearing American Obituary made me incredibly uninterested in checking out this ep as that is just so fucking cringe! It's that exact "trying to be cool with the kids" type shit that made me hate the two Songs of... albums. However everything from there is quite nice actually. The Tears of Things, One Life at a Time and Yours Eternally are legitimately really good tunes that I will have no problem returning to. So yeah, if you can stomach that opening tune, there's a pretty ... read more

Leotrix - Prediction Affliction
78

A pretty interesting album. By no means is it playing it safe but I did want there to be a few more highlights and to have a slightly better flow. Right now, my favourites are Preach and Reminder

Snow Patrol - Eyes Open
60

Yeah, whatever type shit, maybe the songs will grow on me though...
Also, I actually found the bonus tracks to be some of the better material here.

Ghost - Prequelle
75

Actually a bit disappointed in returning to this one. The three big songs are great but I struggled to view the rest as much more than filler

Korn - The Nothing
95

There is incredibly heartbreaking beauty that this album holds. It's heavy, it's dark but also so beautiful, such is the nature of being such experienced musicians with such a tragic event to hold as the theme of this album

"@HomeSession3 that's fair enough. I do plan to give it another listen at least. Just for me, I find this style very overwhelming and prefer it in bite sizes (a bit like grindcore) and not the polar opposite. In my opinion, albums this long mostly only work with prog, doom or psychedelic records"

On Marszan's review of Canoto - Spotted
"Sure, it's a bit genre loose and unique but I also found it a bit boring. Being different doesn't automatically make something great. I'll take the new single from Zomboy, Royal Blood, over this any day of the week! That shit is basically just vintage Brostep. It's not even trying to be anything new but damn is it catchy as hell. It's production and mixdown is absolutely minted. It's a master flexing his muscles, showing off just how good he is at making Brostep. Look, if Brostep isn't your thing, this sure ain't gonna be your cup of tea but since I am, this shit is peak. Lol, I'm writing a review for a completely separate song in the comment section of a review for a completely different song XD. Anyhoo, those are my thoughts. :)"

"@Martune lol ok sure, but Complextro is a sub-genre of Dubstep"
