this album.
i've just won.
lyrically, this album is well elaborated as previous behemoth's albums, but i think this one is more intimate. it's quite emotionally taxing as well [none of their previous records have done that to me]
there are plenty of tremendous moments in the album, like the outro in 'in the absence ov light', which is almost difficult to listen to because it's so intense that I never know whether to head bang or contemplate how the world collapses.

having in mind that rap derived from funk helps to understand this record, hence its tight relation with african-american culture. Snoop Dogg is taking everything back to its roots. Songs like the ones in this lp, songs that emulate the 70's and 80's atmosphere, were the most sampled songs by rappers back on those gold days.
