It's a chill track and the music video is chill too. I'm aware of the message behind it all, but it feels like a calm before the storm

I've been listening to this for 3+ years and its only grown on me. I've barely any complaints beside that it sorta stumbles near the end. Even so, its a solid neo soul album and worth a listen

Never listened to an album that sounded so much like its cover. I mostly got into this because of the Radiohead comparisons, and I do see the similarities lol. BUT it doesn't at all detract from the experience. Hell, I'd be asking for more Radiohead if I could. What about Muse itself? Is this project just overrated? Nah, I see the vision.

Feel like revisiting a classic.

I'd only started listening to D'Angelo proper last year and it took a bit of legwork to appreciate it. But by the time summer of 25 hit, something clicked, and he quickly became one of my favourite artists. So you can imagine how I felt when I heard of his passing in literally a few months later. It’s good to the ears. One big gripe I have to put out the way first is that tracks 4-6, a third of the album btw, don’t interest me all too much. Still fun to listen to but I don’t return to them often.

Only ever experienced Thundercat's work through To Pimp a Butterfly and Them Changes on Drunk. But this got me on the lookout for the upcoming album. Lil Yachty feature is groovy and fun, and the whole track is just so soothing

I'm a Mac glazer. But damn, to think Thundercat could enhance his flow to 11 with such a groovy tune. Previous single got me interested, but this got me hooked and ready for the album's release

I've reviewed this before, but it was a bit of a clunky and lazy piece, and my opinions have changed just enough for another consideration. Demon Days is an album I wanna get a first time listen all over again. Kinda weird since, first listen, I wasn't really feeling it. I’m gonna use this as an excuse to talk about the current UK hip hop scene. I cant say too much since the only thing that’s under my belt is a boat load of Little Simz and a few Dave tracks. BUT, especially when compared to the other side of the pond, the UK scene is pretty bland. Most of the time it’s safe and expendable. ngl I was glazing on release. It still is extremely good but some aspects have worn off overtime and I just have a bit more to complain about. Notably the length. Biggest issue with the album is the fluff, we did not need a 6 minute instrumental intro. And the last 2 songs also suffer from this, which is funny to me because I still absolutely love Forgone. Just feel like the album didn't have to be so experimental and ambitious to get the same impact.

Boom Bap rolls off the tongue. Every single time I say it, I be going BOOM BAPP.

Anyways, this album might be short, but Lupe uses the little time he has and squeezes it into a glossy gem. Samurai has some extremely groovy beats and some of the most fun, flowy lyricism that I couldn't conceive in 5 trillion years, but Lupe probably made in an afternoon.
