A really interesting first introduction to Manderley for me.
I really enjoyed the instrumentation throughout the album, especially the drums and how they really make a great presence on the whole thing.
My only gripe is that sometimes the vocals can be grating just a teensy bit (i.e. on tracks like Your Eyes!) but other than that it’s a good album.
decent project, front end was a bit stronger for me personally but still cool.
Peggy’s new album lacks a lot of the character and personality he’s been known for.
A good amount of the instrumentals are good, but when JPEG starts to rap on them he just uses the same damn flow and it gets tiring, like there’s just no switch up.
Very underwhelming.
The latest in the offshoots of black midi, My New Band Believe’s self-titled debut is a wonderfully made one at that.
Despite having two 8 minute songs, this album does not overstay its welcome at all. I enjoyed everything about this, from the wonderfully arranged guitar and string instruments, to Cameron’s soft, yet emotional voice makes this project a gem to listen to.
