I will start off what I do like about this album then work my way down to what I dislike.
Love the female vocalist, Experimental Hip hop/boss music type music, Heavy on the transitions.
The album started off strong however I don't know what happened to the consistency at the middle to the end. It was like I was listening to 3 different EPs when that dip happened. The orchestra can be a hit or miss, it could sound grand on some songs but sometimes sounds like MIDI instrumentation on ... read more
What I love about this album is how steady it is. I'm not too fond with emo/metal music however I really like this album through out, it keeps a really steady pace with the production and such. I can imagine myself bashing my head with some of these songs. I like the much more experimental parts of the album like the jazzy Beistos and the joyful instrumentation of Bulletproof Love. I love the acoustic sections of the album, it gives this sense of emotion much more thoroughly with the ... read more
The lyrics seem to be direct and confrontational although unpoetic. A lot of times when I'm listening to the lyrics it's almost like I'm hearing someone who's a low life going speaking out against someone else. The more I listened the album, the more I took it unseriously that made me like some of the songs throughout the album. But that magic of unseriousness would fade way later out the album with the quality of production and lyricism. The album seems to have a pop rock ... read more
Extremely cute and soft vocals, paired with a mix of minimal production and pure folk guitars really make it one of the best Japanese folk albums.
Extremely goofy and energetic, but its goofiness is very prevalent throughout this entire album that almost feels avant garde.
Saho's voice reminds me of Sachiko Kanenobu, almost like if shes a descendant. Does folk super well with minimal electronics on the side, even on the piano tracks are soothing to the ears.
Wasn't really too impressive as Heisei, had some good jumpy moments but because of extremely weird musical decisions it really brings it down for me. Did expect this album being rock focused but not to an extent like this.
Very happy album!!!! Would imagine the singer jumping around in the studio while singing. Definitely takes the grunge Shibuiya Kei to a whole new level for me, works so effortlessly. This album makes you feel like a you're in a beach episode anime and makes it so thrilling to hear.
Booooriiiiiiing, wanted to turn this shit off but I was already halfway through the album. Thought this album would bring high hoped because of the amount of ratings and the cool album cover but it really let me down. I'll admit that there are trippy and dynamic parts throughout this album and the singer's light voice can be calming, but because of how repetitive this album is and how the singer didn't fit with the hardcore sounding beats was just not it for me. Gonna try her ... read more
A hip hop Shibuya kei album with some Egyptian feels on the later tracks. Really chill album overall while also taking experimentation lightly, not a lot happens in the middle of the album so don't expect like hard hitting tracks. It has this mixture from the psychedelics beats of Nujabes but also has the funky Bossa Nova and experimentation of many Shibuya Kei albums but it's in this middle spot where it feels almost bland. A funky life, i've been told...
Has very good tracks on this album, such a shame that this album is just half interludes that sound like Cartoon Network credits themes, wouldn't even call it a album at this point. Wished Yukari would've done more with this style of music.
I can not fathom of how many times this album reminds me of different Japanese Albums/Artists, would go on and about how this album pulls sounds from different City Pop Albums. Really happy vibe with the singers soft voice I happily love. Starts off real strong on the first half then gets to the cruising vibe tracks later down which were almost on par. This album has some good moments, and I mean like A LOT, overwhelmingly a lot. Amazing album, could've been a 10 if it wasn't too ... read more
Gets boring on the beginning but after Trailer Music it starts to shine (by a bit). Some of their faster paced songs are what stands out to me the most, wasn't too much of a fan of the slower paced tracks. I was feeling a little let down on all of the spoken word parts because they had such good beats and had potential to do more with them. Noticing a pattern with the experimentation on late 90s Shibuya Kei albums. Goes through a lot of genres along the way like Electropop, Hiphop, and has ... read more
Sounds something straight out of Persona 4 (Wouldn't be surprised if they were influenced by this album), from the distorted grunge to the organs really make up the resemblance. Holy shit the Happy End sample caught me off guard, confused me for a sec. Album overall is melodic and jolly that's short and sweet.
Very trippy beats. This album is raw and heavily grunge based with the Shibuya Kei genre. Sometimes it can feel a bit too repetitive at times and when it does try to go somewhere it doesn't have a oomph to it. I don't like this record as much as Fantasma, Fantasma has a much more evolved and more experimental sound to it.
