It's dancy, a little funky, and also has great lirycs and the demo like production is on its peak. But it sounds a bit mainstream wannabe sometimes.
The names given to these songs are equally complex as the musicality and production on this album.
It was a good little listen. Not as colorful as I expected, also some slips on the production side. But some interesting ideas, and sweet vocal performance.
One of the most defining album in my teenage years. The mixture of Todd Rundren's and The Flaming Lips's fuzzy production styles, wich are really working with the album's mood. Of course there's a John Lennon type voice Kevin choose for himself in his early career and a Jimmy Hendrix type guitar solo at the song "Keep on lying", which makes the whole thing a bit of a copied work.
Everything on this album is pretty much my music taste. But many of these songs are building up way too slow for me.
