Nearly a perfect pop punk record. Literally a modern Dude Ranch or Take Off Your Pants and Jacket. The only thing I can’t exactly get behind is the mixing of the album, it’s hard to hear alot of whats going on instrumentally. After listening to the album many MANY times, I’m still just now noticing alot of different parts from each instrument including vocals that I never heard before. definitely more pop than punk most of the time unfortunately. "spend", "afterthought", and "prophet" are great songs that id love to hear more of from them, rather than tracks like "always you", which just sound really generic and too poppy. i think this albums fine though. theyre still a pretty new band finding their sound, and once they do I'm sure it'll be absolute fire. looking forward to hearing more from these guys in the future.
The remaster is garbage. I was really looking forward to it and I really hoped they would've made it sound better, but it's so loud that it genuinely clips at points, especially on build god. Most people probably won't even tell a difference besides it just being louder. I'm scared how the vinyl is gonna turn out now, the standard one thats been out is still probably the best way to listen to the album.
