Stereolab's Dots and Loops is a nice semi-instrumental album that incorporates a nice soothing (French)? vocalist throughout. I particularly enjoy how a lot of sections are repeated and there is a nice theme throughout. Although, it makes songs sound the same, I don't hate it, and it makes Dots and Loops a great album for studying. A nice addition to the already great album, Constant Companions. My only complaint is that it makes the pacing sort of awkward and sometimes feels like a remix of the songs on the album. (Correct me if that's intended)
I listened to this EP on a whim, and it has some great standout tracks, like How to Pretend, Knot Me, and Pretty Peach. That's really all it has. Mimosa and Hot Boy feel like a harsh clash with some more beautiful parts of songs, and don't fit as well. Not bad, but I would enjoy an album of just more calm songs with pretty instrumentals because Lucy Bedroque proved they can make great songs in that style.
I didn’t expect to give this album a 100. I Didn’t Mean to Haunt You by Quadeca is a concept album about a ghost who has recently passed away due to suicide. I Didn't Mean to Haunt You captures that emotion perfectly; it feels as though the ghost is sorry for its own demise and uselessness. It haunts people awkwardly and makes you feel like a loner. Wow, what an opening. This is my first Sheena Ringo project that I have had the pleasure of listening to, and WOW. These first 5 songs are just amazing, especially "My life, My dreams", the song is so nice to listen to. It flows nicely with the soft piano and delicate singing in the beginning, and then gradually grows until a whole band joins in.
