Kanye West - GEMINI SEASON

Love the production but what are these vocals man 😭 better lyrics and less repetition would make this great

Not as good as it used to sound. It feels like it's trying a bit too hard to be mysterious and edgy. The use of other languages doesn't really enhance anything outside of adding to the already slightly excessive mystery. I like a lot of the instrumental work here, and Joe Hawley delivers consistently great vocals. However, I think a lot of the instrumentals could be enhanced by just choosing different sounds. I like the slight vagueness with the storytelling. I do not care for the ... read more

Viktor Vaughn - Vaudeville Villain
99

My second favorite album of all time. The lyricism and production on this album are so unique and fun; it's a very youthful album. There's not much to say about Vaudeville Villan that I haven't already said about his other albums, but that isn't a bad thing considering the quality of his work.

King Geedorah - Take Me to Your Leader
98

I love this album. Tracks like Fastlane are some of the most beautiful hip-hop songs I have ever heard. The production is some of DOOM's best, with creative samples and smooth beats. The features here are amazing, with the exception of Krazy World. (Why would you give that amazing beat to someone for a just okay verse?) The song Fazers may be the best album intro of all time, if not top three. All hail King Gheedorah!

Tally Hall - Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum

One of my first albums I ever got into. MMMM isn't the greatest album of all time based on lyricism, storytelling, or production, but it's the greatest silly album of all time. However, among the silliness you occasionally get something extremely deep like Ruler of Everything that does fit into those categories. Amazing album, but it has its issues. For example, some of the lyrics feel a bit corny, even for an album as silly as this one. Thanks Tally Hall for making my first favorite ... read more

Madvillain - Madvillainy
97

One of the greatest albums of all time. DOOM shows excellent lyricism over amazing Madlib beats. The album falls short with the integration of skits compared to Operation: Doomsday, but does it better than MM... FOOD or College Dropout. Certain tracks feel a bit unnecessary, but there isn't too much fluff like the two previously mentioned albums.

Kanye West - LIKE THAT REMIX

It's very fitting that neither side cared that Kanye got into the beef, because who cares what modern Kanye is doing?

Kanye West - The College Dropout

To the greatest extent of this whole trilogy, this album has low lows and high highs. Between unengaging skits and mediocre music you occasionally get one of Kanye's best songs of all time. It's good, but not great.

Kanye West - Graduation

The highs of this album are amazing, but the lows certainly get low. Kanye's best album to this day. More concise yet impactful than any of his previous albums.

MF DOOM - Operation: Doomsday
100

MF DOOM's first and greatest project. It's the story of a man who lost his brother and was betrayed by an industry returning to wreak havoc upon the world. It's the perfect mix of reality and fiction; from life growing up poor and witnessing tragedy on tracks like The Finest and Red and Gold to a comic book supervillain losing and vowing to get revenge on Hero v.s. Villan. The production, sampling, wordplay and flow are all amazing. Tracks like Gas Drawls are some of DOOM's ... read more

MF DOOM - MM..FOOD
94

An amazing album. The double and triple entendres on tracks such as Beef Rapp and Kookies are some of the best I've ever heard. The production is an excellent continuation of his previous works, but I find it weaker compared to the amazing production on Take Me to Your Leader. Tracks 6-9 are trivial and I think take away from the amazing lyricism on the other tracks, however they do contain more of the Villan's amazing production, which improves them significantly. There is only one ... read more
