I have been waiting for this album eagerly ever since Animals in the Median, which was an incredible redux of space age pop meets modern indie pop. Radiation City has been one my favorite bands during the last five years. My first thought: "Damn this a weird album cover." This time around, Radiation City is less distinctively space age. An original mixture of classic Motown sounds, 1960s easy listening, and straight up modern indie pop. I'd have a hard time naming an album that sounds quite like this one. I like it a lot on first listen and it will probably continue to grow on me.
Well, it's Sir Elton John, so I couldn't bring myself to give him a rating of anything below a 30. Without his astounding discography and musicianship, this album would receive a lower rating from me. The best part of this album is the cover, which makes it look like a promising record on the surface. But that's about as far as I can go in giving this album praise.
