one of the only albums i know that gets unrequited, vulnerable love right. i feel like im going through it with her. i miss you.
Fionas best IMO. One of the few albums that can tie the lyrics into the melody consistently and make it make sense.
Overhyped... sorry y'all but you aren't alt for streaming this. The conversation around this album just seems performative. It's a decent album but I don't think that it is anywhere near one of the greatest of all time and every time someone says it's their favourite album I straight up just don't believe them lol. Probably very original at the time it came out though.
I have a hard time getting others to listen to this because they hear "country" and write it off, but it's genuinely an amazing album that means a lot to me.
She did it again y'all!!! One of her most beautiful and loving albums. Interlude: The Trio was a little confusing but other than that, this is an album for loving your chosen family and having support through hard times and if I had to pick one word to describe this album, it would be "cute".
Sorry Lana I've loved you for forever, but I think I keep getting stuck with comparing her newer albums to her older ones, and this just doesn't feel like Lana. I am so not against artists evolving and improving their sound, but I really just could not relate to this album the way that I can with the others. It's not very cohesive to me. That being said, the music is still beautiful, and I love Margaret and Let the Light In.
A beautiful album that gets the vibes right. Acoustic guitar at this level is impossible not to like. I love the playfulness of the songs, and the lyrics tie into the theme seamlessly. Nothing seems forced. Haley has her own distinguishable sound, and that is hard to come by nowadays.
Not a big fan of Taylor Swift as a whole, but this album got me. Compared to the rest of her discography, Folklore actually uses a great deal of meaningful lyrics with music to go along with it that actually makes sense. She tells the story of made-up people, but NORMAL people that listeners can relate to a great deal, and it doesn't feel like what is being said has been said in that way before. She has a way with words in this album that her others lack. I think that folk/ folk-pop really ... read more
Putting aside the artist, I think this is a massive debut album. Whether you like it or not, you can't say that it didn't have an impact on pop culture. Whether it was the insane amount of Gen Z discovering the Dollhouse MV on YouTube and playing it on repeat, or the playdate trend on TikTok. Ask anyone and they most likely know a song from this album. And I LOVE me a concept album.
People haven't made music like this for decades. So so so much talent was required to make an album like this and honestly, I don't think I have ever heard anything this beautiful. This is someone who knows how to lyricize and is an amazing guitar player. You can see in their live shows that the music isn't something that she plays for others, it's something that runs through her. Don't forget to listen to the instrumentals because they convey just as much emotion as ... read more
