I'd say overly dramatic, no need for all that, chill, the lyrics repeat themselves there's nothing that crazy going on. It's okay, no idea how it has stayed on radio stations for so long, has some interesting quirks, but that's all it has
So colourful and bitchy! A return to the classic Kesha. The instrumental caught me off-guard with its accordion-iness, but it’s very enjoyable! The game-like “Finish him”-like “Joyride!” Towards the end of the chorus is 🤯🤯🤯 Anyways, I’ll be streaming until I get bored of it, waiting for what’s next!
Cringe at best.
This song is Katy’s best try at getting on radio, but the pop scene has just moved forwards in the last 10 years. Quirky costumes and feminist lyrics won’t save you girl. Doesn’t make sense to be singing about women empowerment and be making a song with a known rapist. Kesha’s Joyride isn’t the best, but it’s light years ahead of this. Shame
The one on the album is a bit too sleepy for me, the single version is better.
Not a big fan of Lorde's vocal choices on this one, but I see this as a redemption and a possible beginning of something beautiful in terms of collaboration for them, even though I would be fine with only having this from them, they did well.
Some highlights:
• Lone wolf hysteria - I expected something more from the album opener. It's an alright song and I really enjoy the production, but I don't think the guys bring anything showstopping to the table.
• MCIALICA - Great production, nice concept and all, but "my daddy nutted in my momma" is just a cringe line. Why?
• The thin grey line - I love the eerie jingle that plays along the song. It's a bit more chilled, but has that villainy-cool vibe I've always ... read more
Rewriting this one cause I don't think I let this album shine! (the original is at the bottom)
Alright, let's get started with the opener,
• 360 - I like it, it's very playful and catchy, and the woofy beat makes it better!
• Club Classics is something I'd listen to while high, not an everyday thing, but I enjoy it!
• "Sympathy is a knife" actually made it to my liked songs playlist along with the before-mentioned 360 and a few more! It's something you'll like grooving ... read more
• I like the somber moment we get with The Craving, but placed between the upbeat Vignette and sassy Lavish it doesn't let us appreciate it properly. This track is special, but I prefer the single version.
• Navigating brings out an epic movie-ending credits-worthy vibe to the album, which at first listen didn't make a big impression, but it quickly became one of my favorites. The singing and melodies are ahhhhh!!!! "My oh myyyyyyyy! Don't know how" melts me. The chorus is ... read more
This album is not the best thing you'll hear, but oh my was it influential for my 2021 life. You could say the album is cinematic, immersive, but that's one of its features that makes it better in my opinion. Finally, after so much teasing, hits, etc. LNX came out with his album and it's great!
Highlighting some tracks on the album:
DEAD RIGHT NOW is villainy and does go with the badass vibes a bit, it's nice.
TALES OF DOMINICA is my favorite!
SCOOP and DONT WANT IT are also good!
