Earl Sweatshirt - Doris

Yeah this is great, but I must admit I remember this being a lot lot better a couple years ago. The production on here is great and probably has my favorite Earl delivery compared to the rest of his discography. Some great features on here, especially Vince, he’s great on every song on here. I like how this is his first album where he kind of opens up his feelings and how this goes on to affect the rest of his work.

Earl is just so good man. One of the artists I don’t listen to very often, but when I do he always hits. Really great lyricism from Earl on this project and is noticeably a lot darker than his last as well. Super consistent album as well, not one song that’s bad here. Although it is short, it still packs a lot of great content in here.

Just an incredible album and one of my favorites of the year easily, as well as it being my favorite Vince probably. This is my favorite Vince project from a lyrical standpoint as well. The production on this is also my favorite out of any Vince projects as well. So if you couldn’t tell, it’s my favorite. I think the rap rock thing Vince does here works extremely well without it sounding corny or just being annoying. He talks about serious and real problems going on right now in the ... read more

SpaceGhostPurrp - NASA: The Mixtape

SpaceGhost is genuinely so great at what he does and he proves this in this album. This is one of his earliest mixtapes so he was trying to still find his footing in this genre, but he knocks it out of the park here. Incredible production with psychedelic vocals makes this a breeze to listen to. Might need to go through the rest of his discography somewhat soon.

Kim Petras - Detour

Great first impression of Kim Petras here. Nothing here is bad at all, even the weaker songs are pretty great. The instrumentals are pretty great on this and remind me of the earlier pop sound (which is obviously the point but she does it good here). I think you kind of have to mention Slayyyter’s WGIA because of how they both have similar sounds, but I definitely prefer Slayyter’s sound and production more on that than here. Not saying this is bad, but a little more lackluster than ... read more
