[ORIGINALLY REVIEWED ON RYM]
My first full listen dive into the band, R.E.M's 5th record is post-punk done properly. It features their hits 'It's The End Of The World As We Know It' and 'The One I Love'.
The lyrics are prominently politically charged against the Reagan administration of the time, the biggest example of this being 'Welcome to the Occupation'.
My favorite tracks on here are 'Lightnin' Hopkins' (insane on a musical level) and 'It's The End Of The World..'. There is also a good cover of Wire's 'Strange'.
