I would honestly place Queen above the Beatles when it comes to British bands. I feel that they are very expressive of themselves. To my knowledge, Queen is the only band to have had each band member write a #1 single. The Beatles could never do that! ;)

Such a shame that this was Cliff's last album. While overall I think RTL is the better album, MOP is only lesser by the thinnest of hairs and has many bests. This album has the best metal instrumental of all time, the best song intro of all time, and maybe the best thrash metal solo of all time. I genuinely think there isn't a weak song on the album. All 8 tracks are worthy to be played live or listened to. Yes, even Escape. It is the archetypal album that served to truly express what Metallica could do, even more so than Puppets does. Cliff's bass playing, while rather blanched on the final recording, when heard by itself is truly masterful.
