Not a bad release I just wasn’t very engaged in this. Gave me modern American Football vibes
I love a lot about this release with the exception of the songs…
Ecca’s voice is a defining unconventional characteristic. Some of her melodies give a bit Björk vibes. The production is smooth AF, and there’s a wierdly iconic blend of polished punk energy, and cool hip-hop groves! There’s just a big chunk of these songs that don’t really stick with me.
Argh sorry… but I really don’t get this one.
I get that the beats are well made, and mixed but very few really caught my attentions. A couple times a heartfelt sample, hit pretty spot on, that’s really it. Has the good old vibes you’ve come to expect from Bladee. I know this is his signature work to a lot of people, but it just did not click as hard, as the other releases I’ve hears from him until this point. It beeps, boops and twinkles just not as melodically significant. The lyrics and vocals where mostly pretty uninteresting, never bad just a bit meh. The opening track was dope though.
