Give it a spin and you’ll find, this record really has A Fire Inside!
I don’t know what it is but AFI hit that perfect sweet-spot.
The pumping hardcore riffs, Davey’s melodic chants, the band has this almost occult quality to their music. The melodies both vocal and instrumental, just sound so longing and sorrowfull. It all culminates in a vivid and nostalgic onslaught of emotions.
Not a bad release I just wasn’t very engaged in this. Gave me modern American Football vibes
I love a lot about this release with the exception of the songs…
Ecca’s voice is a defining unconventional characteristic. Some of her melodies give a bit Björk vibes. The production is smooth AF, and there’s a wierdly iconic blend of polished punk energy, and cool hip-hop groves! There’s just a big chunk of these songs that don’t really stick with me.
Argh sorry… but I really don’t get this one.
I get that the beats are well made, and mixed but very few really caught my attentions. A couple times a heartfelt sample, hit pretty spot on, that’s really it. Didn’t mind it much, but I didn’t really enjoy it either. Dare I say I found it a bit boring? I kinda wanna make some donut related joke, but I feel like that would be pretty mean knowing the context of the title. Rest In Piece, Dilla I’m happy this ... read more
Has the good old vibes you’ve come to expect from Bladee. I know this is his signature work to a lot of people, but it just did not click as hard, as the other releases I’ve hears from him until this point. It beeps, boops and twinkles just not as melodically significant. The lyrics and vocals where mostly pretty uninteresting, never bad just a bit meh. The opening track was dope though. Still an overall comfy listen, although a lenghty one. I just don’t Think I vibe that well ... read more
“Smile for the camera”
Vampyric avantgarde-Blackmetal topped off with a bit of Tänzelcore. When it’s first sunk it’s vampire teeth into your neck, you don’t wan’t it to let go.
I feel like apologizing, to my entire community for not Liking this more.
Mega Giratina we loveeeee youuu!!!!!
An that's the moment I realised my love of pokemon has gone to far.
The most acurate album title ever?
The ballistic onslaught of emotions, is both raw and beautiful! Eventhough it feels Like fairly, straight forward hardcore, it’s just oddly impactfull. The pacing on this is fantastic. The punky progressions become blissfull and euphoric, but you also wanna jump in circle pit after hearing Them. Just simply iconic!
The death of Hyperpop???
I’m sorry but I don’t get people on this one!
This is just 2 gecs 2 furious!
The spin-off sequel no one asked for.
Dig in to that cake pop and just enjoy some sweet tunes.
It’s quite delicious!
The weezer saga. Part 9:
“Return to form?”
“Nah…”
“Return to Ithaka!!!!!!”
I don’t know what exactly makes this album work so well,
I just know that it does. It seems like the gang really got a hand on not just the insanely catchy melodies this time, but also consist themes. There is a Return of self awareness on EWBAITE. We don’t just get an apologetic fan-service song in Back to the shack. But also a ... read more
Me and my homie had fun playing board games to this, and that’s good enough for me!!!!
The weezer saga. Part 8:
Take a moment to guess the hidden feature on Hurley, I promise you, it’s unreal…
Are you done yet?
Michael, fucking, Cera Provides mandolin and backing vocals on Hang On. That is one of the most hilariously well placed features I’ve ever heard. And imagining him and Rivers cuomo in the same room is probably the most socially Akward combination of people, ever known to mankind. It’s… beautiful 🥲
Hurley is a kinda, return to form ... read more
I thought I’dd go to bed early, just listen to half an album.
But nooo, Sadness just had to make a fucking masterpiece (again). So of course I was physically unable to press pause.
Sadness is one of those rare projects, that pulls off an overwhelming amount of emotion and atmosphere.
But they still, know how to pull of a beyond engaging melody. Every single second of this record, has a lifetime’s worth of passion behind it. Even the 40 seconds of silence at the end of the album ... read more
