Broadway classic. Both Idina Menzel's and Kristen Chenoweth's vocals compliment each other so nicely, especially in their duets. Defying Gravity is a cult classic among theatre, and Menzel absolutely knocks it out of the park with it as well as The Wizard And I. No One Mourns The Wicked is such a fantastic opening number and Chenoweth's vocals really shine in it. The second act falls kind of flat, but any song after Defying Gravity has no chance in topping it.
Great soundtrack but has it's flaws
Unironically some bangers here from Spongebob's golden era such as it's fan favourite episode, 'Band Geeks', 'Have You Seen This Snail?', 'The Camping Episode', 'Jellyfish Jam' & 'Ripped Pants'. It's Spongebob, you can't really hate it. Some songs though such as Bossy Boots and Sweater Song are awful due to the annoying vocals but Sweater Song is purposefully awful if you know the context of the episode, so I can let it slide. Yet again, fellow critique and acquaintance gave this song a 10. I listened to this album and I originally rated it a 5.9. However due to the insistence of said acquaintance, I listened to it again and it has since rose to be an acceptable album ranking in my top albums I've listened to so far. Songs such as Prison Song, Needles, ATWA and Toxicity completely blew me away by how good they were.
