The Guardian is unspeakably bad, not because of their constipated sluggishness or their abattoir writing, but because, beneath the hateful, grubby topsoil of their Deftones reviews, there's nothing but void, nothing that hints beyond the lazy psychology of oblivion.
short, largely unsatisfying and quite unambitious. when i first listened to pixelated kisses, i had the impression that joji was going to branch out and experiment with his music--something i was very excited for. instead i get too many interludes and wasted potential.
brilliant lyricism. mural is one of the best songs ever. production is hit or miss, but it hits most of the time. some of the songs drag a bit unfortunately.
while some of the songs pale in comparison to nakamarra, which happens to be the first hiatus kaiyote song i listened to, this is still a very underrated and soothing album.
good, but a lot better and complete when accompanied with the film. film is a 10/10 to me.
i almost laughed for the entire 3 minutes 12 seconds of peanuts 2 n elephant
last 10 tracks were pretty weak imo, but generally decent enough. not worth the wait.
strong start—that first song is phenomenal, but the rest of the songs end up sounding pretty repetitive. i appreciate the kendrick influence but i hope he continues to develop his own sound. will check out his newer album tho!
