(100th review on this website)
AS MY 100th review(and a milestone), I knew I had to do something MASSIVE, and so I decided what other album has such an historical significance and impact, as well as positive reviews than Ok Computer by Radiohead.
This album as i already said, was made by Radiohead in the Year 1997. It it an alternative-rock/art-rock album, and it’s said to be considered one of, if not the greatest album of all time. Anyways, onto the actual music, this record is one that’s full of emotion and one that goes through a lot of ups and downs in it’s 53 minutes, with it being a big mood swing all around, this album has also had an impact which very few have ever, since it single-handedly changed alternative rock as we know it, and ended up inspiring and influencing a lot of new artists and bands to think different. The actual music is a mix of both heavy rock and acoustic songs, and a mix of both sometimes, like in songs like Exit Music(For A Film) where it’s mostly Thom and his gutsy, while in others like Airbag the whole band is playing and it’s definitely heavier and more rock, especially with some of its riffs. The album’s concept is that humanity is succumbing to technology every day more and more, and that we can barely talk and communicate properly, and also that we’re too reliant on technology and what it tells us to do, up to the point where we are almost dominated by the computers and that they control what we see and do, which was part of Thon’s imagination of a dystopian society and world that would be purely reliant on technology and computers, which has unfortunately become a reality and not a dystopian imagination/world. The lyrics on this one talk about what I should said, a dystopian world dominated by technology, but it also goes into detail about some other things, like Thom’s feelings and his thoughts. The singing by Thom Yorke is really good, making this album what it is, with it’s powerful vocals and melodic almost hypnotic singing, making this whole project feel really unique and interesting. Lastly, the production, for 1997, this album sounds amazing and it still holds an amazing sound and production, making it one of the key points in this album and what makes this truly sound so good. In conclusion, this album is a life changing experience that everyone should listen to at least once in their lifetime.
