Not as good as money store, but still some great tracks, a bit rougher around the edges and a lot more screaming which I quite like.
Fav songs: spread eagle across the block, beware, I want it I need it
There’s some very great ideas here, but the buildups are usually ruined by the payoffs, that guitar drone despite being melodic gets very old very fast. I’m sorry to say but I don’t like this that much.
Fav songs: relevator, body behaviour, the marvelous orange tree
To me, this is the definition of derivative, usually with songs this short you have to mix stuff up and experiment, like with some rap songs or that nails record. But this doesn’t really do that well, the vocals are fine, the instrumentals are alright, but it really doesn’t leave much impact.
Best: theirthoughts, eatmydust
While not as good as the forever story, JID appears to give a selection of tracks with some lighter production as well as some decent bars about life in Atlanta as well as his career upbringing. Good shit.
Fav tracks: for keeps, no boo, on Mcaffe
Going into this, I heard a lot of things from a lot of people saying that this was either amazing or overrated and not worth the hype.
And no for the record it’s not a top 100 album of all time but for what it is, it’s really very very good.
The way quadeca songwrites is so minimalist yet somehow so grand at the same time, which really fits the instrumentals.
Not the BEST thing ever, but still a fairly decent thing ever.
Fav tracks: Godstained, Monday, I dream about sinking, Casper
