so, yall wanted a song with vocals, well here yall go. They had a lot of great vocal moments in this song, but we now want a lyrical masterpiece... right? No?
Anyway, the production is great, the vocals are great but
my only problem is that it's just way too short...
I get that Manon is not on it but barely 2 minutes?
Also I wish the last drop was actually the first or at least second, it sounds so damn catchy and just sounds so fun and video game-like. I really wish the song at least ... read more
(First Listen Review;)
It's an interesting single choice since it kinda is structured like an interlude of some sort.. but it's still catchy as fuck?
It takes a bit too much time to build, which may not work as a radio single, but as i said it's also catchy so idk, this review may contain hope that it succeeds thoo !!
(first listen;)
#1 Go 8.7/10
— from the first few seconds I had high hopes because of that space-y ass synth or bass or whatever the fuck it is. The verses were also hitting so I was hoping they won't ruin it with a lame chorus (like with Pink Venom), and the chorus actually hit so fucking good. I love the weird distorted production so much and the vocals are also pretty prominent too, they were singinggg. I'm glad it's not a yet another repetitive chorus as well, overall ... read more
the vocals and the melody are by far the strongest part. The production doesn't throw a big punch but more so drives very nicely due to the "galloping" which i love as well.
I'm glad the verses are not just there, they do offer something as well, but my only problem is that I think at times the song needs to breathe a bit. Especially after the first chorus, the transition into the second verse feels awkward. I think a little string moment would lead very well into the second ... read more
Second best track on the album, after the lead.
It's nothing revolutionary but it's effective. The bridge is the best part definitely, I especially love one tiny detail and that's the voice crack she says on "storm" ("A storm inside a teacup"). And the ending of the bridge is great with the vocal layering.
If I had to change anything I'd maybe add a bit more oomph, more bass maybe or something to make it pack just a bit bigger punch, or maybe more of ... read more
so we are going to pretend like everything about this song is not great? (except for the lyrics of course.)
The vocals, the melody, the production especially, their performances in general, the way they're selling the song, everything is really great.
The chorus is great and the "in you're feelings" bridge (?) part is really good too, especially being mixed with the "eat zucchini" on the outro. Also the song is catchy as fuck, like c'mon now.
Sure, I really ... read more
first listen rating, its the best off of the album, and the MV premiere on YT just finished and its also one of her best MVs, especially the fashion, she looks soo good in the MV.
The song is already like 8.8/8.9, so it'll crack 9/10 very very soon for me!
Edit: 87 ~≈》100
(as i said, it'll grow even more, the overplay these past 4 months actually did nothing, it lowkey added even bc i would just enjoy it each time it comes on a yt short, or skip immediately so it ... read more
- best song off the album
- Top 10 of her career
- Top 3 song of 2024
- the best bit in the short film
- by far one of her best covers arts, from both singles and albums and all it's versions
the insane long ass notes are back!!!
The song after first chorus was solid, even good, nothing too special or flashy so i was kinda surprised at that moment how it had 91 (with 363 reviews), but throughout the song i was thinking if she'll feed us with some vocals at the bridge/climax and i was not just fed but OVERfed, and I still want more !
So now I see why it has over 90 and will probably stay around 88 - 92 range, and altho on my FIRST listen I think it's a bit lower on some ... read more
One of their best songs so far. I just wish it was over 3 minutes mostly bc the key change was so epic and the build-up and beat drop would've went NUTS.
I really really hope we get at least an Extended Version tho.
Music Video was amazing too, very different since they had no choreography in it despite this being their most dance driven song (or at least one of)
100+ 0s ? The forced hate DEFINITELY influenced the low score, tho It wouldn't be a good score anyway, the 0 bombing is kinda tiring at this point smh..
Edit: I just heard the song, and... yeah, yall are overreacting way too much, as i knew even without hearing the song.
Does she fit the vibe..? Well, not necessarily, I wish she went a bit softer like in Skipp and Hide N Seek, it's just that she went a bit too hard for such a dreamy/psychedelic trap kind of a beat.
But she can ... read more
Pretty solid,
From Vie I want something new, cuz.. it's Doja Cat? She can do anything, this has a tiny bit of jazzy horns, so i think Vie will give us more of that, the trap-pop production is okay..
But I want something more experimental like Often, Balut, Attention, Ouchies, or what she did on Scarlet ll: Claude with Acknowledge Me, Headhigh, Urgeee!!!!!!!!!, and then maybe something like Woman, Cyber Sex, anything she did not do much of, just even more, cuz as I said, it's Doja ... read more
Doja Cat Solo Version when ??
(The rating would be higher if it was.. at least for me..)
from the first listen (well, 1.5 since one part was in the short film i watched right after i listened to the deluxe, which may already bumped it to 85/86 since visually the scene was so good the song instantly grew lol), I loved the song, BUT, I really needed at least a bridge. Or even an outro, or little breakdown and another bigger chorus. Just something more to add since I think the song does nor feel 100% complete, tho it's at least 84% complete??
It'll probably grow and I ... read more
I just wish the outro was a bridge or that it was maybe bigger a bit. But still pretty good. I hope her next album is even more distinctive from her previous
and here comes the unneccecary, very forced hate. And for what?
The song is catchy, clean and chill. Katy delivers pretty good vocals on the pre-chorus and Doechii the little spice it needs. The verses don't feel empty and i love that the post-chorus ("la da dee la da da") is not overdone and overused.
- If any other artist, or at least 90% of artists released this song, it would be 71 at least, even if not, FAR away from a fucking 31...
(and it does not really sound like a ... read more
Easily the best song on the EP (altho not a bad one ofc). I only wish the chorus was a post chorus and the chorus was something bigger, and that we got a bridge and outro at least.
