like no its not finished but the songs that go hard are so hard
favs: Blackout, Globetrot, Kill your producer
a perfect album from mr dope.a great journey through classic smokedope hits and some more somber moments. this dichotomy creates a more varied and more interesting listen than his previous albums. his best work by far.
Obviously not super ambitious, but a perfect song, a perfect feature, and a perfect performance from ghost mountain.
The way this song just flows.. a stream of water flowing through a creek. Ghost mountains classic droning vocals are present and break through the track as the synths in the instrumental float, ghostlike, behind it, pushing through as if ghost mountains vocals are boulders, not stopping the flow of the river but guiding it.
And then it slows, synths drop out, and Olans vocals ... read more
one of the more forgettable HM drops, some good songs here and there but a lot of it is slop ima keep it a buck. was not a big fan of the mixing on some of the songs, especially bolos bro like atp make it an acapella the beat is so quiet. songs like husqrider do go hard but the album as a whole is nothing to write home about. its also very monotonous the whole way through.
this album kinda dooks.. doesnt even have the appeal of an album like rainbow bridge or hundred acre wrist
finally sat down and fully immersed myself in this album since it came out on streaming. fuck broo. this is sematarys best album. NOT ghost mountains though, october country my lil baby.
favs: heffalumps, Taxidermy, Sigil, Goodbye horses, Nazgul, Cleaver valley
least favorite: tourniquet
i fw this more than rainbow bridge, some catchy ass songs, second half does drag a little but overall its great
ghost mountains ability to write catchy melodies has always been my favorite aspects of any haunted mound songs, apollon was one of my favorite songs from the group and this is by far my favorite album from the group. ghost mountain takes huge advantages of his strengths on this album. his writing style and production style mix together so nicely to create a dark harrowing atmosphere.
FAVS: Moulder, Hovel, By the Flame, Kevlar, October Country
I found this album on cd for 2 dollars at goodwill and its signed by jarboe. i think i have to listen to this now.
there is something so inexplicable about this album. it evolves past being about solid execution of ideas and polish and more about the vibes of the music itself. this definitely isnt original, but i feel like when most artists try this it ends up coming off very fake, like as if the polish of the music is what takes it away from being so vibey or immersive. this album throws that album out the window in a way that i have never seen before. the beautiful beats mixed with krays sometimes ... read more
my new least favorite "album" if you can even call it that because its 14 fucking minutes. but its 14 minutes of pure garbage. nothing is done right besides the fact that sometimes its not the MOST unbearable thing on the planet. who is this for. how was this made. and how does this exist
