It's a little wack to rate an album without being able to properly analyze the lyrics, but I liked the album enough to give it a try. Agust D's 2016 mixtape "Agust D" is a very interesting project. Not every song is a hit, and it's on the shorter side, but Agust D shows a lot of potential. The overall production is fantastic, and the impact of some of these songs is hard to ignore. It's Album Time is an immensely underrated masterpiece. It's rare to come across an album so polished and well-balanced. It feels almost cinematic in the way it moves between different feelings and sounds. The overall pacing is fantastic. It's Album Time comes with back to back to back to back to back bangers, and very interesting and impressive production. Bandana goes hard from front to back. The little clips at the end of songs like Situations actually work pretty well. The songs flow one to the next but don't sound same-y. Each song is great in a vacuum and in the context of the album. Freddie Gibbs isn't unique for doing this, but I appreciate all the lyrics referencing other tracks on the album. Daydream is solid, but at the same time, most of the songs sound indistinct from each other. It has some huge hits, but I don't see myself coming back to the full album very often. Not every song needs a predictable key change. Favorites: Fantasy, Open Arms, and Daydream Interlude. Worst: It's not actually the worst song on the album, but I find Always Be My Baby super annoying. I also really enjoy some parts of Long Ago, but the chorus ruins the vibes over and over.
