Checked this album because it was published the year my first born was born. Simple, cheerful and charmingly naive. I would get most of this record had I known it then, it would make great soundscape for playtime rituals with my baby girl.
If Nick Cave met Patricia Kaas and Marvin Gaye in a studio
The album was a revelation in times of covid lockdown. Top production, greatest disco legacy combined with rather poor vocals of Dua.
Best singles are “love again” and “don’t start now
Someone who’s opinions are valuable to me said it is a masterpiece album, but I totally not get it. After 1 session of listening it seems dull and uptight.
Had hard time approaching this album, got recommendation after rating Madonna’s „Ray of light”. I was confused about what to expect. Probably the key is not to expect anything. The music is crisp, good, I will definitely get back to this record. Best tracks are „Jump” and „Breathe”.
