The absence of Steve Mazur is really noticeable on this album. The new lead guitar player just isn’t quite as good. Still love the songs Innocent, Somewhere Out There, and Not Enough, but this one just isn’t in the same tier as their previous 4 albums.
After I was introduced to Our Lady Peace with Clumsy, I tried to track down this album. This was back when you had to find the album at a music store and being a band from Canada, it proved to be pretty difficult. Finally found it at a tiny store in a tiny town and I was sooo glad I did. This album is ranked right up there with OLP’s other first 5 or so albums.
Another great Our Lady Peace album. Again, I love the weirdness on this one. Steve Mazur was such a great and different guitar player and he has some very different riffs on this one. Another OLP album where I don’t have to skip any songs because they are all good.
Another wonderful album by Our Lady Peace. This was my introduction to them and I was hooked. There’s not really a bad song on here. Clumsy is such a great song.
This is my favorite of Our Lady Peace’s albums. Such a great album. I love the weirdness on this one. The kazoo sounds on One Man Army shouldn’t work, but they do. This band doesn’t get enough credit.
What an amazing first album. This just shows how talented these guys are. The DeLeo brothers are just awesome. Crackerman will always be one of my favorites (Scott performs that one so well live with the megaphone).
Every song on this album is great. This is an album I never get tired of. I just wish that Stephen Jenkins could have kept this band together and produced similar quality albums later. This first album is by far the best one.
When I first got this album back when I was in High School, I listened to it non stop. I actually listened to it so much, that one day (years later) I put the cd in my stereo and it just gave me an error. I wore it out. I still listen to this album quite a bit even after almost 30 years later and it still holds up. One of my all time favorites.
This was my introduction to Coheed and Cambria. I remember listening to this album for the first time and thinking “wait a minute, there’s a whole story here. This is a concept album!” That began my fascination with all things Coheed: the Amory Wars story, the amazing guitar riffs, and how does Claudio get his hair that big? Every song on this album is awesome. One of my all time favorites.
