When I first reviewed Honeyglaze’s debut album, I was impressed by the quality of their music, though I noted a slight lack of originality. I’m pleased to say that with “Real Deal,” Honeyglaze have truly found their sound.
This album shines with its exploration of art rock and post-rock vibes, showcasing talented instrumentation and engaging lyrics and vocal performances.
While there’s still room for growth in maintaining their creativity—some tracks feel a ... read more
A few good songs here. Arielle definitely has the chops vocally and musically to be great, but a handful of non-, starters and some inconsistent production makes "Reel To Reel" a decent but flawed release.
The handful of good tracks in this album save "The Greatest Love" from being a bland, watered down attempt at what many alt pop artists have been doing for years
Kiwanuka's debut is a vintage soul fest with a handful of truly outstanding tracks and a couple that are just slightly lacking intrigue.
Female-fronted, experimental protopunk released about 3 years ahead of its time.
Gnome are back.with their flavour of fantastical stoner/hard rock and it's still just really good fun that doesn't take itself too serious. It's as camp as it is heavy.
Rose tinted bedroom pop that's a real mood lightener. It's a joyful listening experience
Completely inoffensive, but utterly forgettable 90s-tinged Jangle Pop.
A variety okay to pretty good alt pop. It sometimes feels a little sterile but there are some hints of something more in 1 or 2 tracks
Pretty good Post-Hardcore. Raw and heavy. Aesthetically, it sounds like it could've been released on an Indie label 20 years ago.
Definitely getting some Leviathan vibes here, but with LOG vocals. It's not mind-blowing, but it's pretty damn good and I wouldn't mind hearing more
This album is just a tutorial on how to make bunch of amazing narrative-driven folk rock tracks. It's just absolutely amazing how he can effortlessly deliver these stories and emotions with words that sound like the just fell out of his mouth.
Sugarbabes' second album is fairly straightforward 2000's R&B pop. There are a couple of filler tracks here, but there are also some very strong album tracks as well as singles. It's a product of its time, but that's okay.
The additional songs in the deluxe version of Biffy Clyro's 2016 album are some of the best in their entire discography.
May I introduce one of the most pivotal albums in hi-fi history: Persuasive Percussion
For those unfamiliar, this album is a landmark in the world of stereo sound. Before its release, most audiophiles could only experience stereo through sound effect discs produced by pioneers like Emory Cook.
However, with Persuasive Percussion (engineered by Enoch Light, performed by Terry Snyder and The All Stars), enthusiasts could finally enjoy a jazz album in full stereo. I can only imagine the thrill ... read more
Almost ironically, it isn't actually Stallion's flow and lyricism that makes this song bad, it's the absolutely terrible sampling of Queen that makes this terrible.
Fuzzy guitars, incredibly raw production. Some great tracks here and there. You may like it more than me
It's not breaking any new grounds, but Battle Ballads is a fun and energetic power metal album that's a joy to listen to. The vocals are a little overproduced, but the rest of the mixing is effective. Definitely some good battle metal music.
Extremely good, face slapping grindcore. It's quite melodic and expansive in sections with some catchy hooks thrown in there too, which often feels quite uncommon in grindcore.
